Von Willebrand Disease

What is Von Willebrand?

Von Willebrand disease (vWD) is a bleeding disorder caused by low or abnormal levels of vWD protein.  There is an estimated 3 million women and men living with vWD in the United States.  Managing vWD starts with understanding the symptoms of the disorder and how to take care of them.  Treatment for vWD can include oral medication, nasal sprays, and if indicated, IV medications.
